The Law Society's International Symposium

Cazzana recently had the honour of exhibiting at The Law Society’s International Symposium: The Power of Gender Equality to Transform the Business of Law. A fantastic event with an inspiring agenda. Women on Boards kindly donated a one-year subscription of its membership worth £150 to a competition promoted by Cazzana, and we’re pleased to announce that the winner is Darja, a solicitor from Plymouth.

Women on Boards provides information, encourage and connections to help women become leaders and reach the C-Suite, and we couldn’t be happier for Darja to win the prize!

The two-day event at the Hilton, London Bankside, was a great opportunity to share ideas and practical advice on how to achieve gender balance in the workplace, including at the highest levels of an organisation. The conference was opened by Christina Blacklaws, the fifth female President of The Law Society, with topics ranging from unconscious bias, equal pay and the gender pay gap, to negotiation skills, managing stress and handling difficult conversations.

We’re delighted to have participated in the event. Cazzana was born out of a belief that maternity can be a critical career juncture for many women; it’s estimated that 54,000 women a year are discriminated against at work for that reason when they become pregnant in the UK alone. We’re determined to help in our own small way by offering career advice to pregnant women, including on negotiation skills and personal branding. And we’re equally determined to be able to offer a range of maternity workwear that allows pregnant women to feel empowered at work with softly-tailored styles.
